Sky Rocket in flight; Seagulls flight or plight?
DP91 was today presented as the man to take on the task of dividing & conquering the so called 'Level Playing Field' footballs new league format which sees 48 teams from around Europe pilled together on the basis of equal terms, something which the continents media have been quick to slate.
Whilst the best teams in Europe discuss & negotiate terms for a European Super League which is to be contested by the rich & famous of football, the remaining have been 'left to it' by Europes governing body UEFA, which has refused to deal with those not willing to provide financial funding for entry into it's new league formats.
The reformed UEFA, whose new president resides in the United States has stated "The influx of financial backing will ensure that teams within the MLS format of kick ball can attract a better quality of players & therefore remain the hub of football" It appeared the president had forgotten which continent his governing body was ruling upon.
UEFA President Trump
So arrived the hero of the hour, Mr Tony Bloom. Bloom, a sports bettor, professional poker player, property investor & Brighton & Hove Albion chairman, once nicknamed The Lizard, appears to be looking to acquire a new nickname for himself having now fashioned himself as 'the creator'.
Blooms idea, to take European football forward into the future, has quickly gotten off the mark with the formation of The Level Playing Field a self titled 'rival to UEFAs Super League'.
LPF President Bloom
The LPF has formed, ironically, with the centre of attention being Mr Blooms own club, Brighton & Hove Albion whom he purchased in 2009 & has now placed as 'the standard' for the format to be based upon. Falmer Stadium, now known as The American Express Stadium or The AMEX, ironically paid for by Mr Bloom, has been called the modern & perfect stadium in stature, appeal & more importantly size, which evidently matters to Mr Bloom & therefore the basis for teams entry into The LPF. The stadium capacity of 30,750 seats has been installed as the median for which teams entry into the competition which has seen 47 additional teams along with equal budgets & squad limits of both youth & first team (21+ players).
The question that presents itself now is whether Blooms beloved Seagulls will achieve flight or suffer plight as the team have been handed a Division 4 position within The LPF & furthermore appointed DP91, a local Brighton lad whom is believed to be out of his depth. Seagulls fans are questioning the ability of DP91 to bring in the required youthful talent or experience required to achieve a team able to compete for titles, leading to the question of without talent or experience what kind of mediocrity will be waltzing into The AMEX Elite Football Performance Centre this summer.
Flight or plight indeed DP
